Boar Meatballs with Bacon Bolognese

If lady and the tramp had these meatballs on their plate they would have been fighting instead of happily insisting the other take a bite lol....enjoy and make enough so a fight doesn't break out!

Makes 4-6 Servings



  • 1 lb Ground Boar
  • 4 tbsp Ricotta
  • 1 bunch Green Onion, chopped
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Beaten Eggs


  1. Place ingredients in a mixing bowl
  2. Form into desired size
  3. Line a pan with parchment paper
  4. Drizzle over 3 tbsp olive oil, 3 oz red wine and 5 oz tomato sauce
  5. Cover with seran and foil and bake for 15 minutes
  6. Remove seran and foil and bake for another 12 minutes

Bacon Bolognese


  • ½ White Onion, finely diced
  • 2 Stalks Celery, finely diced
  • 1 Large Carrot, finely diced
  • ¼ bulb Fennel, finely diced
  • 3 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 15 pieces Bacon, chopped
  • 2 oz Merlot Wine
  • 5 oz Tomato Sauce


  1. In a sauce pan heat up 1 tbsp Canola Oil
  2. Add bacon and cook for 7-8 minutes on medium heat
  3. Add fennel, onion, carrot and celery
  4. Once vegetables are soft, stir in 1 tbsp chopped garlic and tomato paste
  5. Cook for 5 minutes and then add red wine
  6. Once red wine has reduced by half, add your favourite tomato sauce and simmer for 10 minutes
  7. Place some of bolognese on the bottom of your desired serving vessel
  8. Place 2 meatballs on top of bolognese
  9. Top with a little bit more of bolognese garnish with crispy arugula or arugula dressed with lemon zest, olive oil & salt and pepper
