Frozen Lemon Mousse Cups

This is the best lemon mousse recipe you will ever make. Sure it uses an old school method but an oldie is a goodie in this situation. Served in frozen lemon cups, this not only looks amazing but tastes incredible.

Makes 8 Servings


  • 1 cup + 1 tbsp Sugar
  • ¾ cup Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 6 Large Egg Yolks
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 ½ tbsp Grated Lemon Peel
  • 1 cup Blueberries
  • 2 cups Whipped Cream


  1. Combine 1 cup sugar, lemon juice, 6 egg yolks, 2 whole eggs and grated lemon peel in a large metal bowl
  2. Set bowl over saucepan of simmering water (do not allow bowl to touch water)
  3. Whisk until mixture thickens and thermometer inserted into mixture registers 160F
  4. Transfer lemon curd to another large bowl
  5. Chill until cool, whisking occasionally and folding whipping cream into mousse and add blueberries
  6. Cut the tops off of each of the eight lemons and hollow out using a grapefruit knife
  7. Place lemons in freezer until frozen
  8. Spoon mousse into each lemon before serving
